Louisville was home to Breonna Taylor, before she was killed in her sleep by police who burst into her home, out of uniform, without so much as a knock.

It’s also the hometown of State Representative Charles Booker, who is on the ballot today in his bid to represent Kentucky in the United States Senate. Rep. Booker has worked tirelessly to fix a broken system for all Americans and I will be phone banking for him today.

Whoever you support, wherever you are, whatever party pin you wear, whatever issues you hold dear, the idea of one polling center for an entire city should disturb us all.

American patriots fought and died for the right of the people to elect their own leaders. If that right can be plundered in Louisville during a pandemic, it can be stolen from any of us, in November and beyond.

The loss of freedom is a slippery slope I’ve witnessed too many countries crash down. Let’s be sure ours isn’t next.
