About 130 fires were burning across New South Wales state on Monday, with 31 more in neighboring Victoria. On Saturday, conditions became catastrophic, with temperatures surging past 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Wildfires have blackened more than 22,000 square miles so far. @mattabbottphoto said New Years Eve for him and those around him felt like the apocalypse as he witnessed the town of Conjola be totally decimated.⠀
