Loving myself and other women? Waking up each day and navigating a world that was organized around Wall Street rather than the cycles of my body and the needs of my children? Feeling free despite misogyny and wage gaps and conditioning that is meant to demean and shame the power and miraculousness I hold? I make people in my body. I make milk from my breasts. I am part of a lineage of grandmothers and mothers and daughters accepting the challenge of loving, loving, loving through all the pain and laughter. The women in my life scoop me up when I need joy breathed back into me. They bathe and feed the broken parts. They are as strong as spider silk and as shimmering. If my soul were asked the question, will you join them? Will you accept the challenge? Her heart would shudder and then burst with excitement and leap into a mother’s body to join her sisters. Challenge accepted. #registertovote
