And teaches and guides and comforts and accepts and respects. Being a dad can sometimes be a thankless job, but today we hope you know how important you are in our lives. We love you forever and ever and a day. Love mom and Silas ❤️ This time last year we were practicing our apocalypse skills… unaware that the world would actually be a VERY different place soon. Let’s take today to spend with family SAFELY (for real, wear a mask pls) and remember that while July 4th represents freedom, we still have a lot of work to do in this country for real progress. Calling all mamas ❤️ We are all part of this. Calling all mamas ❤️ We are all part of this. Calling all mamas ❤️ We are all part of this. Calling all mamas ❤️ We are all part of this. Me in a hat. But now that I have you here… It’s been 116 days and we still have not arrested the cops who killed Breonna Taylor. Go to my stories to see ways you can help demand #justiceforbreonnataylor. #BreonnaTaylor’s name is no longer trending, and the cops (Brett Hankison, Jonathan Mattingly, Myles Cosgrove) who murdered her are STILL walking free. For her mom, her sister, and her friends, please #SAYHERNAME… and keep saying it. 16 year old me knows what’s up #TBT #blackouttuesday 🖤 Link in my bio, and more resources in stories. Black lives matter. Just some feel good weekend energy from the little Queen Zaza 👑 @redcarpetgirlz The past few weeks have been heartbreaking… mostly because the racism and blatant injustices we’ve seen lately have happened many times before. We have allowed inequality to be part of America for too long – and it has NEVER been acceptable. As allies, we have to do more. While the obvious and understandable reaction is to be angry, and to fight back with hate – we also need to remember we are most powerful together. Please speak up. We want EVERYONE to live freely and peacefully. This hatred we are seeing is a result of a deep systemic problem, but we are not powerless. To say it simply, we HAVE to talk to our kids about race. We have to teach them that we are all equal, and that hurting someone because of the color of their skin is not, and has never been okay. Reading is such a great way to do that. I’m sharing a list of some of the children’s books I’ve found really helpful. ⠀ ⠀ If you’re looking for more book recs and further info on how you can teach your children about anti-racism, @theconsciouskid is a resource I’ve found so so helpful ❤️ To all the moms and dads out there… it’s our responsibility to actively educate our little ones to create a better future. During a humanitarian crises, like the one we’re in now, these numbers only get worse. So I’m joining the movement of women standing #TogetherForHer. Thank you to @CharlizeAfrica for bringing this issue to light and giving us a way to support through @CTAOP, @CAREorg, and @EIFoundation. These organizations are funding interventions to help keep women and girls safe from abuse.
