Brian Holden Instagram – Let’s talk about @wethepeopledetroit, a group in my home state of Michigan that is doing everything imaginable to support folks who have had their access to safe, clean water jeopardized or just shut off completely! Water access is a huge problem in some parts of Michigan (not news!), and over the past decade, the city of Detroit has been shutting off people’s water access to deal with their own budget problems. This disproportionately negatively effects Black communities. They have done the research on who these shut offs effect, and will literally bring water to those who have been cut off!
