She was formerly executive editor of Out Magazine, and a national organizer for the Transgender Law Center. She is committed to amplifying the dignity of the Black transgender community. She believes that throughout history and currently, trans women of color have been relegated to the margins of social justice discourse despite being some of the most impactful and formidable leaders of radical change. As the world awakens to how ubiquitous white supremacy is, she feels that all people must be invested in dismantling restrictive notions of gender and identity.
