Happy Father’s Day to all those who are doing the work, whether thats the villages of grandmamas, aunties & neighbors filling in for those who cant or the single moms pulling double duty. fatherhood is the best job, the toughest job and the only real job that matters. there’s no training and no practice. you’re pretty much thrown into the deep end of the pool together. mistakes will be made, lessons will be learned (and ignored😊) but if you just keep trying you’ll be alright. my kid posted these pics of us today. #BestSequenceEver it took me 40 minutes to do her hair that day..only to have to pull her shirt over her head when i was done. i wish i had a pic of the face she made when she realized i did the hair b4 putting the shirt on.😂😂 we kept trying & we’re doin alright. 🖤 i love u, @sopha.doll 🖤

as a kid (5 to 8 yrs old) i had these same questions, mine included: “why don’t they like us?” & “why don’t i feel the same way about them?”. i’d like to think that it’s because “i’m a good person, fair & openminded.”😊but i think it’s more because of what i was taught, or some might say ‘brainwashed’ to believe, or maybe its the combination of it all. subliminal messages delivered to a child with the right temperment & boom, here i am. seeing this back then may have led me on a different path. i’m happy with who i am but the events of the last few months sure have me taking a hard look back at how i got here. i know everyone is not all bad, nor is everyone all good, these are just some thoughts. i love u all, all we got is us.

A consistant theme that i’m finding at the core of systemic racisim is Greed. There are others, ofcourse, but the greed of man is a current that feeds this sickness. At this point Dr. King was focusing more on economic injustice than peaceful protests. “Now this what we’re faced with..” he said.
