Ronan Donovan Instagram – In the coming days, I will be sharing images and stories from an article David Quammen (@davidquammen) and I worked on with help from @bulindichimps that is printed in the current August issue of National Geographic Magazine (@natgeo)⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Many of you messaged me about how I took the aerial photos from my previous post, so I thought to break up these serious posts and share a few behind the scenes images from the aerial photography days. Most of the images I posted yesterday were taken over the course of a 2 day flight with @davidquammen in 2017. We flew in a Cessna C172, piloted by the skillful, Patrick Drate. I’ve posted the route we took across western Uganda from the Kinyara Sugar Factory landing strip to the airfield at the Toro-Semuliki Wildlife Reserve where we spent the night before returning to Kinyara the following morning to have two twilight sessions from the air.
