A Malayali woman named Merin was murdered by her husband today in US- on the day she was moving out to another state and another life. He stabbed her 17 times and then ran over her with a car. The murder in itself is spine chilling. But what really froze my very soul were the comments under the news articles on Facebook. It resonated so much with yesterday’s discussions and videos. Snehamulla violence. Toxic love. I will say this again- Whatever it takes you, whatever you do- never return to a place that breaks you, hurts you or erases you. People will tell you ; it’s love, it’s how marriages are, it’s what is expected of you, everyone lives like this, adjust a little, compromise a little, ignore a little. Don’t. They will call you names. They will say you are a whore and insane and arrogant and a sinner. You are not. They will shame you for being strong and feminist and smart and well-read and motivated. Don’t be ashamed one bit. If anyone says they love you and continue doing things that hurt you; it is for eff-sakes NOT love. Always always trust actions over words. Trust the pain you feel over the words you hear. Repeated mistakes are not ‘patti poya’ accidents. If these accidents do not occur in public, to their friends and bosses- it is not accident. Get out. Get out. Get a lawyer who will not Mollywood Male Dialogue you. Call a friend. Call your family. Don’t teach your child Violence is how love is expressed.

Amala Paul Instagram – Meet the cousins: This is the FIRST time, I’m posting a picture of my big fat fambam! I DON’T BELIEVE in showcasing only to the world our LOVE and BOND. We’re a pretty tight family and I like to keep FAMILY MEMORIES SPECIAL. I’m breaking my own rules today, 2020 has been CHALLENGING and overwhelming for all us in more ways than one. It has been a year of METAMORPHOSIS, especially for me. This year has helped us realize a lot of things we all were taking for granted amidst our FAST-PACED EMPTY LIVES. Memories, relationships and people are the most important things in life, no two ways about it. The lockdown has helped me REKINDLE my relationship with the ones I GREW up with. All of our childhood and teens were intertwined, after which we all slowly but surely felt DISCONNECTED from each other – should we blame it on the rat race to reach the top?
With nothing but time on our hands, WE PULLED OUR ROOTS back together and RECONNECTED. When we connected, we realized we all are going through similar phases of metamorphosis, TRAUMA and HEALING. And for those who haven’t joined their family tribe, wishing you to cross paths soon.

Forget about the rat race, you aren’t a rat! Talk to “YOUR” people. LIVE a LOT and LOVE a lot MORE!

Amala Paul Instagram – People are like shadows they disappear when it gets dark!

“If you want to know who your tribe is, speak your truth. Then see who sticks around. Those are the people who get a spot in your blanket fort”

and most importantly THEY DON’T MANIPULATE YOU TO CHANGE BUT LOVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE.
I am grateful for you, #weareone
