This is Pınar GuĢˆltekin.ā  She was reported missing in Turkey's Aegean province of MugĢ†la on 16 July and found dead after being brutally murdered five days later. A man has been detained in relation to her killing. Pinar was just 27 years old.ā ā € ā ā € People in Turkey regularly see black and white images of women on the news, but they are pictures of women who have been violently murdered; the country has one of the highest rates of femicide in the world. The photo challenge circulating right now was in response to Pinarā€™s death. A way for Turkish women to stand in solidarity with those lost and shine a light on what is happening. This is much more than an opportunity to post a nice pic of you. Itā€™s much more than supporting other women by asking them to do the same. Social media can do so much good, but so often the intended impactful message is quickly lost ā€“ itā€™s kinda like playing that game where you whisper something in someoneā€™s ear and then they pass it on to someone else and so on, and the original message comes out the other end completely different. So post your photo, but do if for Pinar and all the other women, especially women of colour, who have been lost to violence. Thank you to @julesyparker for doing the work and finding the origin of this campaign. If you know more about its origins weā€™d love to know too. #challengeaccepted #pınarguĢˆltekin

Amy Pemberton Instagram – šŸ™šŸ»šŸ’™ @nhswebsite šŸŒˆ We are are so incredibly lucky to have the NHS. How do you put into words the thanks you want to give knowing how rough this has been and IS for everyone involved?! Especially when one of your family members has been working on the front lines. WEAR. A. MASK! SOCIAL DISTANCE….! You think this is difficult?! … Try wearing mad heavy PPE on long shifts day in, day out and having to tell someoneā€™s family member that their loved one doesnā€™t have long left to live, and that youā€™re ā€˜so sorry but you canā€™t be with them to say goodbyeā€™. And then to the next loved one, and the next and….. THINK! PLEASE! šŸ’œ Stay safe. X šŸ™šŸ»
