Vanessa Marcil Instagram – I want to open up a conversation with all of you stay at home moms especially now during this pandemic. How do you feel &how are you treated daily in your own home? While we are all fighting for equal human rights out in the world, I have noticed that sometimes, after I made the choice to start staying at home to raise my kids, that I began to feel a shift. I would FEEL disrespected & taken for granted at times while handling the many responsibilities of taking care of the family, school, the kids, the home etc. AND THIS, I felt WHILE I still paid my own bills, am accomplished in my career & hadn’t even asked for child support for my kid. So, if I could suddenly feel this way, what about the incredible moms who have been at home only since day 1??? It’s a 24/7 job & at times it feels…lonely? Now I’m not one to need tons of praise but miss me with that subtle disrespectful attitude while I’m cleaning up after you, doing your laundry and sending some present to your peeps with your name on it cause….MANNERS. 🔥 I’m not even gonna get into that suddenly there is a lack of respect for us women out in the workforce too if you aren’t achieving year after year in your career while raising kids, But that’s a whole different post. I’m focusing on stay at home moms in this specific post. How do you all feel? I am amazed at what you do daily and I only have two kids and one of them only part time. Share your stories. I want to hear how YOU are. Yes, I am aware that I can be internally overreacting/triggered and so I work in therapy on not projecting onto my family SOME emotions from my childhood, where the men ruled and my father was allowed to cheat & be “busy at work” but…let’s not normalize this crap. I also started to notice once at home, with the other moms, that not only do I see women putting up with cheating men or “locker room talk” men but I’ve even seen some lie to each other and say their men are so Perfect because they don’t want the stigma of being alone. On that note RESPECT to all of the single moms out there who are simply NOT willing to normalize subtle abuse. Women are fucking warriors…
