My sons first week back at school… Saying a prayer over all kids.. 🙏🏿 It’s funny, I felt my mom’s prayers would embarrass me around my friends, but now I realize her prayers saved my life. Thank you mom. ❤️ Welcome back to school everyone, stay safe, and lead our children with courage. 🖍🙌🏿

“Purpose is the essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history. Your very existence is wrapped up in the things you are here to fulfill.” Chadwick Boseman (Howard University, 2018) In every tree there is a seed… In every tree there is a forest… Purpose can not be taught- It must be caught. Myles Munroe said “When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable”, and I salute a man who understood his divine plan. ❤️ You provided space for so many young men and women to see themselves in their true image! You helped them look in the mirror and see the power in who THEY are… When there was darkness, you brought them light in a world that so often tries to dim their shine 🙏🏿 My prayers to the family of our superhero Chadwick Boseman- your life and light was supernatural! The strength and resilience you showed while fighting such an intense personal battle is unmatched. May the King of King’s find it well with thee!🤴🏿

Look what we stumbled upon during our morning walk… Old Town Road 🐴🤣 Hope everyone is having a relaxing Labor Day weekend!!
#TBT Glory Road 🏀 With the Western Conference Finals starting tomorrow the NBA finals are on my mind and I need to know… Who you got? Can LeBron and AD stop the Nuggets’ Cinderella story? Are the Celtics going to extinguish the Miami HEAT? 🔥 I feel a draft coming on…. Who got predictions?
“When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.” The #BreonnaTaylor news today is weighing heavy on my heart. We can’t allow chaos and abuse of power in any industry – especially when the stakes are life and death… When you dedicate your life to law enforcement, to protect and serve your communities… You must do so with excellence. You must carry that duty with you and use it to guide your work. Unfortunately in this situation we saw the actions of a few bad apples…. not the hearts of all those who protect and serve. Praying for Breonna Taylor, her family, and the city of Louisville 🙏🏿
A family that ABC’s together, stays together…. 🙌🏿 Celebrating this beautiful family @thecheathamfamily … Not only homeschooling- but facing this challenge as an OPPORTUNITY to CONNECT as a family! An opportunity to educate their children in a way that excites them, inspires them, and makes them feel seen… You can feel the love. ❣️ 🎶 Next Time Won’t You Sing It With Me…
“We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. We cannot turn back.” – Martin Luther King Jr // I Have A Dream (August 28th, 1963) Today we CELEBRATE and HONOR the mighty March on Washington… 💪🏿✨ Where an estimated 250,000 people of all backgrounds, races, and class- came TOGETHER to stand for what’s right, to demand action be taken by leadership and their fellow countrymen. ❣️They marched for jobs, for freedom, to condemn civil rights abuses against Black, Latinx, American Indian and other marginalized peoples. They saw a better tomorrow, a FUTURE for their children, their grandchildren, their family legacy. Without their united efforts, we would be living in a different reality… A different country… A different 🌎 world … So we thank them 🙌🏿.. And we promise to carry forth their vision of an America for all people. ❤️

Took some time today to reflect on the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. No matter how much time has passed… our hearts remain tender. We remember those who lost their lives, their loved ones, and the heroic first responders who sacrificed so much. 🇺🇸 Love and strength to all the lives that were forever changed 19 years ago. 🕊❤️
A new generation 🛹 Love the BRAVERY and BRILLIANCE that shines in this young lady… She is living proof that when you plant a seed in the right environment- it will GROW. As a person sees themselves in their heart ❤️ they will become in reality. Our limitations aren’t inherent, our boundaries aren’t immovable… Your power and your gift is what lies inside of you… Sometimes you don’t know what’s missing till you add your spice to it. Keep sharing your Joy and Gift with the world @alluring.aaliyah 👏🏿
Mic drop…. Don’t forget to remove those kinks from your heart too 🙌🏿❤️ #marcusgarvey
Check out this teacher embracing his students AND their stories. Teaching Is a ministry Gift 🙂 It’s not just technique, but there’s also gotta be a spiritual aspect! Great work @theconsciouslee!! There are some classrooms that frown on this connection, but you really get it bro. Education is elevation, you gotta meet them where they’re at!! Remember – Let’s catch the fish before we clean them 🙏🏿🎣
A passionate scientist at work… 👨🏾🔬 This man is hilarious, but if you look closer… He‘s got his eyes trained to check the visuals, the lines… He developed a vision and he is using his personal formula to get the result they’re both looking for… Even from across the street! 😂 This kid’s cut is a walking advertisement… A way to fuel his future projects. His science is his ART, and his art is his SCIENCE. Gotta respect a man THAT dedicated to his craft 💪🏿 plus he’s clearly got jokes too 😂
“Opportunities motivate me because I was once scared to dream … to the point where I wouldn’t even do it because I knew I wouldn’t be accepted… I know I’m great now, so I know there’s not anything I can’t accomplish.” Powerful video from @tommiemabry, flooded with emotion and pride when he received his PHD… Tommie grew up facing many obstacles… Youth incarceration, repeated expulsion from multiple elementary and middle schools, gun violence.. But Tommie found his path forward through basketball and his faith 🏀🙏🏿 He surrounded himself with people who were lifting him up, who believed in him.. Who saw all the beautiful possibilities in HIM! Congratulations Tommie!! 👏🏿
Hard to believe this movie came out 12 years ago this week… This scene from #MiracleAtStAnna is radically controversial and biblical… It speaks to a moment in time where honor wasn’t given- it had to be taken. What is the cost of freedom? What is the cost of being a prophet? Of love? Of equity? When you’re not welcome in your own home… When your home dishonors you… Resistance and sacrifice. But you keep spreading your message, knowing that there is a brighter future on the horizon. Love is radical, it forecasts change 🙏🏿 Thank you to the 92nd Infantry Division that bravely fought in WW2. We will carry forward your story and share with future generations. Shoutout to the visionary @officialspikelee and my castmates @themichaelealy @lazofficial @omarbensonmiller 🙌🏿
“Everyday People Make History Every Day” What mighty words from Blair Imani… History is happening all around us… We each have the power inside of us to touch each other’s lives and improve them for the better.. How are YOU going to use today to make history?
Happy Monday people! According to @weareteachers the average teacher affects over 3,000 students during their career… There’s NOTHING more effective in the recipe of education than the ingredient of LOVE. It never fails to inspire, encourage, and build community in the classroom. The best educators always add LOVE to the LESSON… Let’s make an impact 💕 🙌🏿
“Everything you place after black is too small a term to completely describe the act” // Entrepreneur – Pharrell ft Jay Z How powerful was this moment in @pharrell’s music video for #Entrepreneur?? Using his platform to highlight amazing Black entrepreneurs- to celebrate them and to inspire the world 🌍🙌🏿 TyAnthony Davis is providing students an environment where they feel SUPPORTED… A place where teachers have high expectations because they BELIEVE in them 👏🏿👏🏿 In fourth grade Davis was able to attend a school for gifted children, an experience he credits with changing his life for the better- that has stayed with him on every step of his journey. After receiving degrees from Yale, UNLV, and Harvard Law School- he went on to practice corporate law in LA… But his heart was in education! At 29, TyAnthony decided to change direction and opened @voxcollegiate to students, focused not only on typical school skills – but skills students need to be successful outside of academia…Focused on building an individual voice in each student.. 🗣 A voice that will empower students to become future leaders and advocates – for themselves and their communities. “You have to come with the mindset that if these students had a choice to sit in the classroom or leave, this has to be a classroom where they would choose to stay.” Thank you 🙏🏿 Educator TyAnthony Davis for modeling a loving & safe environment your resilience in creating an environment where the teacher can flow n the students can grow, this should be an industry standard. Humans beings are indigenous to Loving 🥰 Environments – Keep it up!! 🙏🏿🕺🏾👍🏾💪🏾
