T-minus 11 days until @mulan is released on @disneyplus!! I’ll be sharing tons of behind the scenes stories as we get closer to Sept 4th so stay tuned! One of the most unique parts of getting ready for Mulan were the wig fittings- and when you’re getting fitted for a wig, that hair goin all over the place. These wigs were incredible quality- all real hair and fit perfectly to our heads. It took over three weeks to mold our domes and multiple sessions to make sure they were the right fit, make any adjustments, and style them how they were going to look when we were on camera. What you’re seeing here is about 25% way through the process. Our wonderful hair and makeup department is pinning the wig to my real hair, and flopping a lot of hair out of the way to make it easier for them to do.
LOYAL. . So many amazing and talented individuals had to come together to make this film a possibility, and their loyalty and hard work cannot be understated. . Director @nikicaro has been on this journey for years and years now- she and her team have put in thousands of hours of work and research into making this movie possible. Just take a look at the crew for this film- Niki brought together some of the most brilliant and talented women in the industry and they all shine here – their contributions to this final massive undertaking will go down in history as one of the most special and representative productions ever. . We trained as a squad and practiced choreography day after day, bolstered by amazing stunt performers and guided by living legends like @heidimoneymaker and @sunmoonl to bring these epic action sequences to life. And special shoutout to @bruceinaba for being my stunt double on the stateside 🙂 . Finally, a massive shoutout to @iauhnaush and @stephaniemhsueh who embodied the true spirit of what Loyal meant. Day in and day out these two were dedicated, passionate, and prepared to handle every hurdle that came their way. Everyone on the squad loved and appreciated them for all they did, and this movie certainly wouldn’t have been possible without their help. .
