Jess Weixler Instagram – So the last two times we’ve walked down to the beach there have been what I think are hundreds of nurse sharks (each around the size of a leg, snout to tail) about knee deep into the water. The first time I walked in to the knees, saw one at my feet, then saw a sea of them stretching in each direction and ran back to the sand baby and all strapped on. I’m freaked because I LOVE swimming in the ocean and I’m a really crap surfer but still. I thought maybe it was a rare singular migration day. But low and behold I come back a week later and they are still here. Tons of little fins slinking along when this white wash rolls back out.
I am undecided how to deal with swimming in the ocean and really wondering what the seasonal nature of sharks are and if I’m just going to picture this every time I step in now regardless of when they change course or how aggressive they are or aren’t … oh beautiful ocean.
