Marcia Cross Instagram – Repost from @daniellebelardomd • A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. ⠀⠀ At least 9,300 US healthcare workers have been infected with ‪#COVID19‬ so far. 723 US healthcare workers have been hospitalized, with hundreds admitted to the ICU. ⠀⠀ Many front line healthcare workers have lost their lives to COVID, the ultimate sacrifice. ⠀⠀ Please take 5 minutes of your day to watch this, and honor many of the US healthcare workers who have died from COVID19 while caring for patients. ⠀⠀ And for those who are protesting safety regulations for COVID, for those who are claiming COVID conspiracy theories, for those who are ignoring and fighting against social distancing safety measures: this message is for you. I challenge you to watch this video and tell me COVID is not real. Have respect for those front line providers who have already have lost their lives caring for YOUR loved ones. Have empathy for everyone in healthcare right now who have to leave their loved ones at home every day while they risk their lives for you. Because at the end of the day, even if you ignore social distancing, go to a COVID protest, or tell people on social media it’s a conspiracy, even if your actions harm others, we will still care for you if you show up in our hospital sick, and ill. We will still provide you with the best patient care possible.
