Him and some of his friends were afraid to be outside in the dark because they though they would be killed by the cops. When he shared that with me, as a parent, it was the first time I had no words. So for months it bothered me and then I came up with how I could address it. I called my co-writer, told him what happened and how I would like to address it. We later inked up a beautiful script and I casted a phenomenal ensemble to make it even greater.
