Steven Caple Jr. Instagram – Talking to your mom got me out of bed this morning, man. As you know, she’s a strong woman. Moms talked about how young we were when we started USC Grad School. How people called us “youngins… kids… babies.” I didn’t realize how young we were until… well, today. That’s because we were too busy living life.
And you always lead the way.
I’ve learned early on that a “friend” is what you call @reekspeaks within minutes of meeting him. After that he’s your family, your cousin, your nephew, your co-writer, your producer, your sound guy, your hero… whatever you’re missing in your life – at that moment – he’s that part.
And being around Tarik Jackson is an experience.
We shared birthdays. We laughed at the dumbest things. We shot every film idea that came to mind, we traveled to film festivals on pennies, slept on floors, we’d take our moms to dinners and talked about buying them houses one day. I know… kid stuff… but it was all real. Genuine love.

It feels unreal trying to write this caption. My feelings can’t be explained in words. My love for you, bruh can’t fit in a post. And our bond continues to grow even while you’re gone. I’d be lying if I said this didn’t hurt or cause me to lose my breath randomly throughout the day, but Mama Jackson said to just let you shine through me. So you know what that means: I have to approach the rest of this life the same way you strolled the dance floor…
