Debra Winger Instagram – It is September 11, 2020. In the moment my finger pressed down to capture this moment, all the moments in the recent past seemed to enter in and join the now. The fear and horror of March April and May; the anger in June and rising inability to accept life as our nation had continued to frame it – have and have nots, supremacy of all kinds White, economic, and environmental; the strife of the summer and the struggle to feel one could do something, many things to affect change and growth; and now in August and September the unbearable truth of climate change in the form of devastation in the West; the pain of loss both from an unmanageable virus and now fires that displace and destruct ; Three fold ways of taking our very breath away; All the while celebrating birthdays, marriages and trying to find a way each day to relax into the knowledge that time will move us to solutions to a way of working together to a Reckoning. And so this moment: in any way one can find it: a cool blue pond, communion with friends, a long tall glass of water when parched, the call that comes at just the right moment. Help comes when we ask for it. It comes from various and sometimes unsuspecting places. I want to stay open to help; to help and be helped. Here comes the fall.
