Many of them could not make it…While you were sitting at home living your privileged life making banana bread… You have earned most of your privileges, don’t be guilty for it. But the least you can do is raise the voice for the voiceless. You came across a data that struck you… 25 LAKH PEOPLE DIE OF HUNGER EVERY YEAR IN INDIA. This lockdown period saw various activist fight for issues that resonated with them and salute them for it. But you wanted to know that if lives matter why dont you hear an equal uproar for those who die of hunger. We don’t have any data on the Migrant deaths, we don’t have any data or compensation for the Medical staff that lost life being the frontline warriors during this Pandemic. Yes you should question the present Govt, but also the previous ones for not creating an infrastructure for any of this. But most importantly you need to question the people of this country and ask them if there is any ‘Value of Human Life’in this country… Coz if there was,we would definitely address these issues and make it a priority over most things we scream and shout about. I want you to know that it is okay to accept and be ashamed that your country has really not valued human life. Its only when you truly feel that shame will the so called wannabe Nationalist in you want to make a change. I hope and pray that when the world finds its feet again the collective intellect,resources,intent be used to make sure that the Value for Human life takes precedence in our country… Hope and pray that people dont die out of Hunger… Of what you know our country is self- sufficient in the production and Supply of food,its the distribution chain of food that needs to be streamlined and the Capitalists(if not the Govt) find a way to profit by making sure there is food in everyones hand.
