Cody Christian Instagram – His name was George Floyd. I stand with those fighting for justice. I stand with my brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers. I stand in support of my fellow human beings that are deprived of the same god given right of peace, safety, and equality most of us never even have to think about. That absence of thought and worry is a privilege. I’m not speaking as an actor but as a human to help promote positive change. If you’ve never experienced discrimination or racism personally, I can understand how one could dismiss the severity of this issue or to deny its happening. It is happening. Now. Human beings are dying because of a systemically taught and perpetuated fear. A deep history of black criminality continues to be mis-understood or ignored. We must not shy away from uncomfortable, rather, create a dialogue. Understanding a perspective that is not your own is the first step. To understand we must communicate and to communicate efficiently we must be informed. I recommend a very powerful, documentary, “13th”, directed by @ava on @netflix I challenge you to watch it if you haven’t seen it.
