Jessica Barden Instagram – I’m giving my final Jungleland post to the director Max Winkler. Who everyone is obsessed with and for good reason, but to me he was genuinely my best friend on this movie. For a long time the industry had this feeling that to be talented you didn’t also have to be a good person but Max totally blows that theory out of the water. I’ve never worked with another person who everyone loves as much as Max. He is an enigma I can’t describe it, the guy is never tired or not inspired. Don’t work with a director if you don’t think they can be your best friend because the days are too long and you don’t deserve it. The video of him dancing outside the car ended up influencing a scene in the movie and that’s actually how you make stuff. Just being in the moment in your bubble making a film and being free with the people you are working with. No one was harmed in the car fire. Cheers Max, thank you for casting me in your movie, taking Leeds United on as your team and showing me a new way of making films when I needed it most in my life.
