I am taking over Colton’s account today in honor of #TransAwarenessWeek and the #TransTakeOver initiative started by @ashleemariepreston ! I am a trans and non-binary writer, performer, and educator. I am the author of the poetry book #FemmeInPublic and #BeyondTheGenderBinary (a handbook to challenge transphobia). Over the past decade I’ve performed in more than 40 countries! My work explores themes of gender, race, mental health, beauty, and humanity. I’m trying to create a world that challenges gender norms, celebrates gender diversity and creative self expression, and recognizes that only people can determine their own genders, no one else! I started the hashtag #DegenderFashion to show the world that clothes have no gender. And #NothingWrongHair to challenge the shaming of body hair.
