This is THE weekend to watch Gather.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day is Monday and we can’t just let it be a singular day when people are informed of the deep pain Natives feel. We need people to understand the source of this pain on more than a superficial level. And why restoring foods is so critical for Indian Country. We are talking about survival.
We also need people to realize this day is not just one of mourning – it’s one of regeneration, of an infusion of Spirit into the hearts of those in Indian Country actively transforming historical trauma into a revitalized sense of identity – identity based on sovereignty, based on traditions, based on our Creation Stories.
