my entire life i’ve gravited towards “city” culture. romanticizing the “artist” that writes music, drinks coffee, smokes cigarettes for breakfast and sleeps on a madress in a loft apartment. preferably surrounded by my own creative mess. (cringing at myself rn). but last year i had the urge to get out and reconnect with nature. i was beginning to see the value of getting outside, disconnecting from social media and the fast pace that comes with a life in the city. at first, i didn’t feel at home in nature. i think i was trying to be my perception of “a person that enjoys nature”. so i focused a lot on the materialistic side of things, such as clothes and gear. so while doing my first hikes, i didn’t feel like my true self. now, a year later, after more thinking and hiking, i’ve found a more honest way of existing in nature, that allows me to focus on the beauty around me rather than what shoes i’m wearing or what other hikers might think of me. i’ve always thought, you’re either a city person, or you’re nature person. but i know now, there’s room for both. here are some pics from some hikes recently
