Brian David Gilbert Instagram – Today, my best friend of 14 years had to be put down. I haven’t been able to see him since August of last year, and as much as I tell myself “He was old, he had a wonderful life,” the news still hit me like a truck. He was with me for more than half of my life, and regardless of how insufferable I was in my adolescence, he loved me through all of it. I can’t imagine how much worse off I’d be if I didn’t have him around.
He liked dancing a lot, and holding your hand while he was nervous in the car, and going on adventures on the train tracks. Everyone says they have the best dog in the world, and the beautiful thing is that everyone is right about that. Moose was the best dog in the world.
