Anne Rice Instagram – FROM THE VAULTS. Taken in the San Francisco Bay Area, sometime around the late 70’s or early 80’s, this photograph depicts Anne much as she looked at the beginning of her career as a published novelist. Many forget that after the publication of INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, it took Anne many years before she returned to the world of vampires. In the interim, she wrote two deeply researched historical novels, FEAST OF ALL SAINTS and CRY TO HEAVEN, published on either side of the birth of her son, @christopher.rice.writer while her husband Stan continued to work as a professor at San Francisco State University. The success of THE VAMPIRE LESTAT, however, would change their lives forever, allowing Stan to retire and the Rices to fulfill Anne’s lifelong dream of moving back to New Orleans, the city of her birth.
