Jaime Ray Newman Instagram – Fourteen months ago, @guy_nattiv and I launched into a long gestating project to turn our backyard shack/garage into a home office/guest house, and open up the layout of our home to give us more room to grow our family. Well what’s that saying, make plans, God laughs?
Mid renovation that displaced us into four different Airbnb’s, our baby Mila arrived 3 months early and we were back and forth to a NICU in Vegas for 80 terrifying days, my beloved father suddenly passed away (I’m still in shock), and after hosting a shivah in our partially gutted home that didn’t even have a front door or bathroom, the world went into lockdown. Whew.
I am extraordinarily grateful that we had a home to move back into, even if it was a shutdown construction site for months during the unknown. We finished construction not too long ago, and alas, I am thrilled to FINALLY reveal the pics.
To our KICK ASS contractor @concept_renovations , to our AMAZING interior designers @madelynnfurlong @haleyweidenbaum and to the brands we worked with, mostly small, outstanding, artisanal companies who need the love, THANK YOU for making a rotten 2020 a year where we could fall in love with our home and cling to each other in the sweetest of spaces. ♥️
