Rukshar Dhillon Instagram – Words of wisdom by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev ji, have always stayed with me. Helped me look at life with a better perspective, specially in the past few months. On the occasion of Gurpurab (his birth anniversary) here are a few learnings from the Guru Granth Sahib Ji written by him.
I’m sure you can take something from this too.

1. “Hukam Rajayee Chalna Nanak Likheya Naal“
Meaning- His command. Everything happens by God’s Grace.
Lesson- Acceptance is the key to happiness.
In moments when things dont work out the way we wanted them to, we always question why. But its only a matter of time that we realise it’s all for the best.

2. “Nanak Naam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbat da bhala”
Meaning- May everyone in the world have good well being, happiness and positive spirit with God’s blessings.
Lesson- Wish well for everyone. Don’t only think about your happiness and growth. It’s very important to be compassionate and understanding towards people around you too.

3. “Nirabho, Nirvair”
Meaning- No fear. No hatred.
Lesson- Always have uttermost faith in yourself no matter what challenges come your way. Never fear to stand up for the right thing.
Let go of pain, anger, ego, hate. Cause anything negative will never make you grow.

4. “Seva”
Meaning- Selfless service.
Lesson- You don’t have to visit a spiritual place to do this. If you’ve made a difference in someones day even by making them smile, without expecting anything in return, it is Seva. The act of selflessly giving, loving and caring about another.

5. “Ik Onkar”
Meaning- Oneness. We are all one.
Lesson- We all should remember the things we have in common rather than pointing out at our differences. Once we start doing this, we start to look out for one another and stop judging them.
Fairness and Equality matters above any religion, caste or creed. In the end, we all are connected by one force.

Wishing you all a Happy GurPurab. May Wahe Guru bless you and your loved ones with happiness and prosperity.

Wahu Guru Ji Ka Khalsa
Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh
🙏❤️
