Greg Furman Instagram – We’re not even close to the kind of society we should be living in. We have to educate one another on the reality in which we exist. Our history is ugly, but through love, empathy and compassion we have managed to grow through the very worst. For all those getting upset, exclaiming “all lives matter,” get your head out of your ass and stop choking on semantics. All lives SHOULD matter but for some, it’s been a very different story thus far. Sure, you’re terrified because you don’t know how to feel. Get in line. Getting defensive isn’t the answer that’s needed. It may be your answer, but it’s not helping. It was my answer for some time before I realized just how little my insecurities had to do with the damn problem. Racial injustice. Inequality. Perpetual discrimination. Those are the problems. The enemy isn’t white, black, or blue. The enemy lives in the absence of love and appreciation of all people regardless of their differences. It feeds off ignorance. It sleeps when it should be wide awake, learning from our historical follies. Search for solutions. Educate. Love.
