Tyler James Williams Instagram – I have to admit, before making this film, I was aware of Billie Holiday’s contribution to music and black culture but I wasn’t fully aware of her fight as an iconoclast and civil rights activist. I find this happens most black history months, where I learn something that gives me greater context of what our hero’s had to go through to be the people they were. Hopefully this #blackhistorymonth we all get an education on not only Billie but all of those who came before us who’s stories were not taught to us in their totality.
