Alice Waters Instagram – My very dear friend Charles Shere passed away yesterday leaving his wife Lindsey after 64 years of marriage. They both dreamed up Chez Panisse with me way back when and have been essential to its existence ever since. Charles’s wisdom and dedication to Chez cannot be underestimated: He was a writer, composer , and director and I dare say a feminist! We will all miss his humor and his love of life. Our condolence to his wonderful family. We are always here for all of you!
