So I like to practice Radical Gratitude. Every so often I’ll remember an opportunity I really wanted but didn’t work out and see what came of it. I always discover that it never was what I hoped it would be: the people ended up being different, the project stalled or wasn’t as successful…

When I discover the reality of what was on the other side, I feel so much gratitude for the rejection. Inevitably I return to the fact that “the present is a present” and thank my ancestors for protecting me from an unnecessary painful lesson.
