Denyse Tontz Instagram – In the wake of a year’s worth of bad news, it’s easy to be desensitized to new bad news – to want to turn off your devices or scroll past it and make it stop for a second – but the sick reality is that racial hate crimes are still happening at full force and it’s our responsibility to TALK about them so they get the attention needed to invoke ACTUAL CHANGE. It may seem like there is no end to this stream of awfulness toward minorities, but the steps we’re taking are important. It’s our responsibility to be vocal NOW about reform and changing the presumptions and biases that lead to this kind of behavior so that LATER our kids and our peers’ kids won’t have to worry about themselves or their family members getting fucking ATTACKED or SHOT at for NO REASON other than the way they look.
I am educating myself more on the subject right now.. there’s still a lot to learn. I hope you guys’ll take the time and do the same. #stopAAPIhate
