Kelly McCreary Instagram – In the wake of the horrifying act of domestic terrorism in Atlanta this week, I am reminded of the insidious nature of racism, how no group of POC are untouched by it, and that we need to align our efforts into a single struggle for our collective freedom. I stand with my AAPI brothers, sisters and non-binary fam*, mourn with them, send my love and offer support. I also want take this moment to remember the context and history of anti-Asian racism in this country, with the hope that understanding the source of a problem can plant the seed of a solution. Maybe it’s news to you, or maybe it resonates as disturbingly similar to the systematic exclusion and oppression of other groups in this country. Knowing the struggles that have come before helps prepare us for what we’re up against now, so we can, together #stopasianhate.
