Yaashika Aanand Instagram – I came across the #WeAreEqual initiative by @asianpaints and @startindia and was really inspired by how creativity is used to support a great cause. ‘We Are’ the largest panoramic mural of India has been brought to life in Chennai, to spread awareness about the stigma and misconceptions around AIDS and HIV. We either treat HIV survivors as victims or outcast them. I’ve known a lot of survivors through an organization, who do a great job in making sure the next generation has a better place to live. That is something every human being on this planet should do right? A society that treats all its people equal is where everyone can thrive together. I pledge to be that person who will not victimize an HIV survivor and see them as an equal. I hope you are all with me to make our society a better place to live in. Why I like the artwork is because it’s telling people loud and clear that everyone has their right for equal treatment in both the professional and personal sphere. The mural is designed by street artist A-Kill (@ad57akill_t3k) with Delhi-based Khatra (@bykhatra).
