Adan Canto Instagram – When I was a boy growing up in a small town in Mexico, I witnessed my father lead a life of Respect, Honor and Decency. I was blessed to have him as a model. He would go about his day shaking hands and sharing his time with government officials, family members, ranch workers, and employees. And every time I would see any of these encounters, I would see him behave in exactly the same way with everyone. Regardless of their socioeconomic status or the color of their skin, my Father would respect and honor the human being before him. I grew up seeing this every day of my Life.
I pray to God that I may be as powerful of a model to my son as my father was to me. I pray that I may pass along the legacy of what it means to be a Man; The Leadership, Strength and Responsibility it entails.
That despite the chaos erupting outside our doors, despite the inhumane behavior of those who have been sworn in to protect us and preserve law and order and then fail to do so, despite the animal-like behavior of people trying to cheat their way through Life, believing they’re entitled to things they have not worked for, scavenging and robbing from decent, hard working people, I pray that despite all of the turmoil of our days… a new time arises. And it will.
These hard times will only make us stronger. My son will understand the ways of nature and its impecable order. He will learn from the seasons. He will know that there is a time to reap and a time to sow, a time for Life and a time for death, a time to kneel and a time to fight. He will love Life and all that is good. He will protect our innocent and defenseless. He will be a light for those who need guidance. And above all, he will know what it means to be a Man. | Posted on 01/Jun/2020 23:25:10
