This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week and I wanted to dedicate a few posts to things that I have reached for in difficult times. The theme this year is “Nature”. Today I want to share a very special person. A friend of mine once told me a story about a guy from Austin, Texas who became a cult hero distributing cassette tapes of his home recordings whilst working at McDonalds. Then my friend played me a song called “Worried Shoes”. It’s a good one for the soul and makes a lot of sense to me. Another one I want to share today is from the album “Songs of Pain” and is entitled “A Little Story”. Daniel Johnston was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and spent much of his life exploring his own perspective on the world and life and nature. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do. 💙
