But how do we achieve meaningful representation? @jasonwinstongeorge and I think it’s through diversity AND inclusion. This is important in every workplace, every school, every governmental agency… you get the idea. We need to listen and respond to the needs of the diverse voices in our communities and give ourselves space to grow, learn, and adapt. In our business as working actors, we think about this a TON. We are so grateful that the LEGENDARY (oh my god, I can’t believe it!) Geena Davis and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media(@gdigm)have provided us with some incredibly useful and important information about gender equality in media, and while we focus on gender the entertainment industry here- it’s so important to consider how representation affects all of us and how we see the world and each other.
