Stella guarding the nearly 400 pages of edited manuscript that I just submitted to my editor. When I start a new book, I write the full first draft in Scrivener: its outlining and organizing capabilities can’t be beat. Then, when it’s time for the edits, I switch to Microsoft Word. For the first two major rounds of edits, I typically keep track changes turned on and we send it back and forth. However, by the third round, the pages are so muddled with deletions, edits, and notes that I love to print out the entire manuscript, staple each chapter separately (in this novel, there are 31 of them), and write directly on the pages in fine point Sharpie. Hitting send on this puppy tonight capped one of the best weekends in recent memory. Title announcement coming soon! 🍸 🇺🇸 😊
