These two men had no idea the Lord had appeared to Simon, when they left he had only appeared to the women. As they enter the #UpperRoom they hear of Simon’s visitation. But Simon gives no details. Did Simon lie? We know Peter lies as he lied three times regarding Jesus.
Then Jesus appears to them ALL neither confirming nor denying Peter’s claims, but he is now called Simon, leading us to believe Simon had been approved. Forgiven for his fear, reproached by his guilt and loved for his faith. His name was changed to #Rock as his repentance solidified his position as the rock of Christianity, on whose shoulders the Church was built.
