Arjun Kamath Instagram – Owing to a busy couple of months, I hadn’t been able to work on anything of my own. So, when I saw this image while reminiscing about a recent trip, I knew it was time. As many of you may know, the magical synthesis of light and shadow is one of my favourite things to capture in a photograph. And looking at the lovely play of the two elements in the frame, I dived right in to share the image with you all.
This picture was taken on my recent explorations of the known and offbeat places of Maharashtra. On a honey-toned evening while returning to Aurangabad from Shirdi, I found myself walking into a muddy field, freshly watered and sparsely green with fresh produce. I could hear the dabbing of my feet into the wet mud with each step below, whereas above, the birds sang and the winds softly blew. That’s when I came across this kind lady, her traditional attire standing out against the earthy tones of the field. As soon as I spotted her, she gave out a soft smile, still occupied in plucking the greens. I instantly smiled back and clicked the shutter button on my camera, fascinated with her expressions and the tender light that shone behind her at a distance.
