One year of sobriety today.
I didn’t really know if I wanted to share this on social media, as it feels so personal and sometimes negative and a bigger question of what is privacy and what is valuable to those who follow me, who believe in me. Alongside choosing a life of sobriety, trails the fears of one day falling off, and fear is a funny thing; fear of letting people down, fear of letting myself down, fear of being lost, but, what outshines that, and this is what I’d really like to share with you, what outshines that is a sense of pride and gratitude that I’ve never really known.
This year has been so tough for so many of us in so many obvious ways, and when we can’t imagine how life is still managing to go on when everything feels so wrong, it really hits us, life still does really happen and we have to deal with so much throughout the day; from Buisness, to people, to feelings, and back to all of our fears, the list really does go on…
And for those of us taking it day by day, for whatever reason, overcoming the small stuff to the big, I am proud of you.
For those of us who have chosen to seek recovery in the midst of a global pandemic, in the midst of a time that feels hopeless, when isolation is a necessity, where nothing feels as it should- I just want you to know, you’re not alone. Control is irrelevant. You’re doing what you can and some days that has to be enough. The world has a funny way of telling you exactly what you need.
Proud and grateful for so many things, today, yesterday, and tomorrow- one of them being your constant support. Xoxo

It is always international woman’s day. I owe a great deal to the women in my life. Trust them, believe in them, uplift them… today, tomorrow, and forever. Our culture is based around the importance, forgiveness, and success of men, and we must, as men, continue to dismantle that.
In this household, Moses is Queen.
Trans day of visibility. #transdayofvisibility How do we care about people who identify differently than we do?How do we show up for them? How do we manage our own beliefs and narratives to make sure not just ourselves and people who feel like ourselves are taken care of and loved? Today, it would be a beautiful thing to see more non- trans folks embracing the journey of visibility, what it looks like for someone who has always felt othered, what it looks like to put aside our own notions and privileges of being born in the bodies we feel most at home in,
It takes bravery and fortitude to take on a world that lacks understanding and empathy for someone to transition into ones own true existence.

Thanks for listening,
I needed to say it
Finding this picture brought up a few different things, not seeing you for over a year means I’ve not been forced to take 100+ photos with you and although my wording suggests I hate that, I miss it more than anything and can’t wait for our newest selfie. You have one of the most radiant smiles and biggest hearts. I am a grateful younger brother, you’ve taught me what support looks like, you’ve shown me love in my darkest moments, and being proud of each other is one of the coolest parts of my life. You are a beautiful sister, a bad ass mother, and a patient, understanding, forgiving human being. Happy b(earth) day. I love you , Dani girl.

Honored to be a @gocampaign change maker. Inspired by their efforts to fund local organizations in LA like Avalon Carver in Watts and their local hero Jamico Elder. What we just did on the Live with the help of your donating has already changed a couple of kids lives for a couple of months with making sure they can participate in education, vocational training, health and safety. Thank you for helping us GO.

Black Lives Matter. A movement demonstrates and imagines. Yesterday, even though it said it was going to rain, people showed up, people brought what they could to the movement, people brought music, prayer, spoken word, hope, joy, pain, umbrellas, water, snacks, frustration, care, they brought it all. I got to snap this photo while it rained and people stayed, they lifted up umbrellas with the names of those we’ve lost to police brutality, the faces of freedom fighters painted upon the wall of the ACLU, while families held other families in their shared sadness and strength, while music filled the air… we imagined a Union of people looking out for people, we invested in something beautiful and something worthy, we invested in each other, that’s what Defund means.

When I became a @GOCampaign #Changemaker, I knew that, even in Covid Times, you all, myself, and GO were capable of being helpful and instigating change.
Last week in just 15 minutes we raised enough to provide 6 students in Watts with STEM education for an entire month! Thank you to everyone who tuned into my IG Live with @gocampaign Local Hero Jamico Elder and showing your love and support to these Heroes. I’m excited to keep learning and making a difference with GO and with YOU.
Link in my bio to keep helping us make change.
Grateful to you all.
