O-T Fagbenle Instagram – Today I’ve been thinking a lot about a dear teacher of mine who passed recently – Miss Quinn. She was PASSIONATE, I mean she taught from her heart!! We would talk and debate sociology, history , philosophy after class. One day when I was 17 she shared that her teenage daughter had died during a misadventure. She was heart broken. She told me that her daughter had been into the arts and now she she wanted to help support me through drama school. She did. Every month she sent me some money which came with no stipulations. “Spend it how you like.” (Though I used it to buy my yearly train ticket). We kept in touch for years after. The last time I saw her was when she came to see me in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom at the national. She was proud as punch. She changed my life in so many ways.
