Shaznay Lewis Instagram – Yinka Shonibare’s ‘The British Library’ celebrates the diversity of the British population. Printed on some of the 6,328 books covered in beautiful fabric are the names of first or second generation immigrants to Britain, both celebrated and lesser- known, marking their significant contributions to British culture and history. On at the Tate Modern, I tried so hard to find my name, to the point of dizziness😄🤪..sadly I was unsuccessful! However I did find my dear Melanie Blatt’s name printed in gold, what a beautiful installation. It definitely made me think of my parents and their journey to Britain.
