Brad Benedict Instagram – After swimming with these guys and gals (mostly gals) and getting up close and personal, the great hammerhead is absolutely one of my favorite shark species. They are stunning animals with clear #intelligence and individual personalities. #Humbled to have had the chance to #dive with them and be welcomed into their domain for a little while. And they need our help!!! Humans have massacred these animals and they are now #criticallyendangered!! Please say no to fishing for sharks, and spread the word, #Earth needs a healthy shark population. Humans need a healthy #shark population. The impact of destroying an apex predator has major and negative consequences on the entire food chain, trickling down all the way to the #phytoplankton, which provide as much as 50% of the oxygen we breathe.
