Brandon Prust Instagram – I tweeted a picture of a stat you will see at the end of this video. The Rangers record when I fight within the 1st 2 mins of a game was 7-1.. 8-1 after this game. I said, teams in a slump shouldn’t fight at the end of games when they are frustrated, fight at the start of the game to get your guys going and get their spirits up. I didn’t think it would get much reaction, but it did. I’m glad it did because it shows that some ppl still understand why fighting shouldn’t leave the game. I also believe fighting in the game is in a much better place now. This fight with Paul Gaustad had nothing to do with me not liking him or that he did something to me the game before. This was completely for 1 reason – to help get my team back on track. We had lost a couple in a row, team spirits and moral was low. Whenever I felt that in the room, I would try and fight my 1st shift that next game. My teammates always knew that fight wasn’t for me.. it was for the them. It was me saying ‘let’s f**king go boys’.
