George Harrison Instagram – Klaus Voormann’s decades-long friendship with George began in 1960 during @thebeatles residency at the Kaiserkeller in Hamburg. @klausvoormannofficial is also a noted artist and created the cover art for The Beatles ‘Revolver’ album, The Beatles Anthology series, and George’s ‘When We Was Fab’ single. Klaus’ contribution to George’s legacy continues to this day, with a limited edition illustration by him that’s included with the Uber Deluxe Edition of the ‘All Things Must Pass 50th Anniversary’ box set – click link in bio to preorder now.
George Harrison Instagram – George’s friendship with @ringostarrmusic, and their musical work together, spanned @thebeatles and both of their solo careers. ‘It Don’t Come Easy’ was the first of several hit singles that George produced for Ringo. It featured George on guitar, @klausvoormannofficial on bass, and Badfinger’s Pete Ham and Tom Evans singing backing vocals. The following year Ringo joined the band for George’s Concert for Bangladesh – including Klaus, Pete and Tom – and this was the one song that Ringo sang at the concert. George produced ‘Back Off Boogaloo’ for Ringo in London at Apple Studio shortly after The Concert for Bangladesh. George played all the guitars on the track and was joined by ‘All Things Must Pass’ alumni Gary Wright on piano and Klaus Voormann on bass.
