United Airlines have just announced a deal with @boomsupersonic to purchase up to 50 of the company’s planned supersonic passenger jets, in a move to develop the first supersonic commercial jet since the Concorde.
Promising a 3hr30 flight time between New York to London, the new Boom jet travels at twice the speed of today’s fastest passenger jets.
Boom and United are insisting a future supersonic fleet would be considered net-zero carbon, and would fly entirely on sustainable aviation fuel. The planes are expected to roll out in 2025, fly in 2026 and carry passengers by 2029. | Posted on 04/Jun/2021 17:39:29
