Anne Hathaway Instagram – When the original Miss Lang Presents dropped I wasn’t sure of how anything was going to look around this time. ⁣ ⁣ The energy last year made me believe that we were ready to turn over a new leaf, to welcome forth the change that is so desperately needed for what appears to be humanity’s final chapter as we’ve come to know this book of life. To say I’m heartbroken would be an understatement, to say I’m hopeless would be dramatic , I am simply accepting what I am seeing: people are more comfortable in the familiar than freedom. ⁣ ⁣ I am people. ⁣ ⁣ When the fanfare is all over I am left with the reality of my own history and capabilities, recognizing how small being an individual truly is in the grand scheme of things. What it means to be a single entity desiring a world that will take a collective drive to achieve. ⁣ ⁣ I’m under the impression that when the earth is ready to release us, she will not pick and choose who gets to survive. That those who create organizations, who write pretty words, who cause necessary disruption will perish as those who fight change at every turn, who murder, who steal, who harness fear for destruction. We will all be in it together. We are all in it together now. ⁣ ⁣ Unfortunately, as long as I am waiting for the other to make the move the move doesn’t get made and here we are. Cheering for crooked politicians who’s pens are too heavy to sign off on radical change, clinging to empty traditions on land that was ripped through the bloody fingers of it’s inhabitants. ⁣ ⁣ We have been duped by those in power to believe that this is all we will ever be. Perhaps, they are right. Perhaps when it’s all said and done more will in fact be said than could ever be done. ⁣ I honestly don’t know. I do know, however, that there are amazing people living today doing work that at the very least reminds me that the fruit is in the labor. ⁣ ⁣ Humans who remind me that praxis is still important, even when it’s not popular, that there is still beauty to behold in humanity. ⁣ ⁣ I am lucky enough to share some of those people with you this week! — @aarynnlang 📸 credit @kendramlee
