Anu Sithara Instagram – “When passing by this striking mural at the KSRTC bus station in Ernakulam, you can’t help but stop for a moment to really appreciate the thought behind this beautiful artwork. The juxtaposition of an old lady carrying local fruits, vegetables and flowers while the young girl is carrying a school bag is so thought provoking. It immediately reminded me of my own grandmother, the bond we share and all the valuable lessons she has taught me about our land and traditions, while I teach her about modern trends and technologies. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate our traditions while embracing the future. The mural is part of @asianpaints Donate A Wall initiative in association with @startindia. It is made by graffiti artist ZERO and assistant OneStroke and is featured prominently on the façade of the busy bus station. The picture was clicked keeping in mind all the safety precautions for both me and my grandmother.
